Original Toronto Star caption: Prototype of LRC trains (light; rapid and comfortable) that Via Rail hopes to introduce in 1982. One of the few modern pieces of equipment it has is the Turbo (right); but the federal government is pouting $100 million a year in capital expenses to update train stock. However; Via President Frank Roberts says more is needed.
