Original Toronto Star caption: Young metro Jews celebrate harvest festival; Jewish teenagers of Toronto's Beth Sholom Synagogue mark Jewish festival of Simchas Torah and Sukkoth with a service of celebration; similar to the Christian observance of Thanksgiving. Here in a succah; the thatched recreation of the traditional hut employed by wandering tribes in the desert thousands of years ago; festooned with fruits and vegetables; they sing hymns while their elders participate in a service. The succah was set up adjacent to the synagogue.
