Original Toronto Star caption: Preparing to cut away the rope tangled in the propeller of the freighter George M. Carl; diver Jim Antonacci jumps into the cold waters off Sunnyside Beach; where the ship has been wedged in a sandbar since Christmas Day. The 64-foot freighter missed a turn and ran aground four miles from its destination in Toronto Harbor to unload a cargo of soybeans. A federal inquiry into the accident begins Monday and two tugboarts from Kingston arrive today to help free ship.
