Original Toronto Star caption: HMCS Loon; the first of an entirely new design of wooden ship slid from the ways of the builders J.J.Taylor and Sons Ltd.; yesterday. The 92-foot craft was blessed by Canon Frank B. Mason; rector of St.Monica's Anglican chuch; Toronto; and christened by Mrs. H.L. Bonnell; wife of the principal naval over-seer of Toronto. The craft is powered by two 550 H.P. diesel engines. [incomplete]
