Original Toronto Star caption: An 86-year-old Mississippi river boat was towed this morning from its moorings at Port Credit where it has been used as a floating restaurant and dance hall since 1976. The Mark Twain Showboat is shown at top being towed by tugboats on the first stage of its journey to New York; where it is to be refitted for a December opening at a yet-to-be-decided site. The 600-ton floating eatery was used on the Mississippi from 1896 until 1961 when it was turned into a restaurant in Chicago; then Buffalo and later Port Credit. It will cost $500;000 just to move it to New York.
