Original Toronto Star caption: Princess Marguerite; Vancouver; Jan. 23 - (CP) - Blasting and sinking of S.S. Princess Marguerite by enemy action three hours out of Port Said in the Medi - the British Empire. Edward Stewart and William Harris; both of Victoria; were made members of the Order of the British Empire. Shown in this photo in the inner harbour of Victoria B.C.. On August 17, 1942, while en route in a convoy from Port Said, Egypt to Cyprus with 125 crewmen and 998 British soldiers on board, Princess Marguerite sunk by a German submarine.
