Original Toronto Star caption: How the mighty have fallen: For the big; old maplein Mrs. Frank Longhurst's front yard at Sharon; the end finally came at height of yesterday's storm. For years Longhursts had dreaded day a high wind might bring giant crashing down on their house. It missed by a few feet. Couple watched from a front window as it fell; not knowing which way it would go. Wind was accompanied by hail that Mrs. Longhurst described: Like white sheets coming out of the sky.
