Original Toronto Star caption: The ferry is running; at last and stranded tourists wave and cheer at Port aux Basques; Nfld.; yesterday. The first car to board the ferry was that of George Winchester (right) of Hamilton; Ont.; and his passengers; Edna Watt; behind him; and Mr. and Mrs Walter Simpson; left; of Yorkshire; England; it feels great; just great; Winchester said; I just cant' believe it after being marooned here so long. They were among 1;500 who boarded the first ferry.
