Original Toronto Star caption: Signing up: Recruits hired by Canada Post to replace letter carriers who go on strike register today at a warehouse on Commissioners St. rented by the post office as an assembly point. They were to be paid $13.25 an hour for being on standby plus a bonus. Twenty chartered TTC buses waited on the street to transport them to postal plants but weren't needed this morning.
