Original Toronto Star caption: First Big Snowfall Now Salty Slush; First major snowfall to hit Metro this season ended overnight; leaving about 8 centimetres (3.2 inches) to turn into salt-laden sluash for morning rush-hour traffic. But traffic moved along almost normally. Pedestrians dodged snow shovellers and splashing cars as they emerged from the subway at Front and Bay Sts. today. But the forecast is rain by Wednesday.
