Original Toronto Star caption: The Pastor; Rev. John Creighton; stands in front of Munn's United Church that is to be moved 50 feet back to allow widening of Highway 5. The original frame church was built in 1844 on land donated by the family of Daniel Munn; one of the area's pioneer settlers. It was given a brick veneer in 1898. It houses the oldest continuing congregation in Oakville-started in Munn's home in 1823 with a Methodist circuit rider holding services. The delicate moving job will be carried out next month.
