Original Toronto Star caption: Seven Years after he ran off to Canada to avoid the draft in the U.S.; Myron Ostapchuk and his wife; Carol; are home with his father; Peter Ostapchuk of Buffalo. Myron was the first draft-dodger to return from Canada to New York state to claim clemency under President Gerald Ford's proclamation last week. In the quarter of his life he's spent in Canada he's obtained bachelor and master's degrees in Slavic studies and Russian literature and he plans to teach.
