Original Toronto Star caption: in the baby derby; to finance her fight for a share of the half million dollar fortune; if necessary; to the highest courts in the land. Mrs. Clarke's chances of sharing in the fortune were believed hinged on the question of legitimacy of five of her ten children; all born within the ten-year period stipulated inthe will; since the courts ruled that only legitimate children can share. The 25-year-old mother; who does not know the name of her benefactor; is pictured here on the steps o fher Toronto home with six of her children. The amount of the sum was also not revealed.
