Original Toronto Star caption: Debbie Heads Home, A Happy Girl, On a stretcher, in a body cast, 12-year-old Debbie Romney smiles at her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Romney, as she waits at Toronto International Airport for plane home to Virgin Islands yesterday. She underwent surgery at Hospital for Sick Children to straighten a curved spine. It will allow her to stand straight, and perhaps fulfil her ambition to become a teacher. To make it possible, Toronto surgeon Dr. John Hall waived his fees, Dr. Campbell MacArthur, of Oakville, paid air fare, Shriners paid hospital fees.
