Original Toronto Star caption: A walking miracle, Kenneth Thurlow, aged 4, takes first unaided steps for grandmother Mrs. Bertram Atkins, only a week after he went into hospital to have his leg amputated. By mysterious error, x-rays indicated bone grafts in his leg had not healed, doctors operating found the leg had actually healed perfectly.
