Original Toronto Star caption: Evelyn Mercer tucked her 9-year-old son, Billy Jo, into bed and kissed him good night at 8 p.m. Friday. Three hours later, when she looked into his bedroom, he was missing. Mrs. Mercer, who lives with her husband and nine children in a small frame house on Gainsborough Rd. in the Coxwell-Gerrard area, immediately began to search the house and yard. 12.45 a.m.-still no sign of Billy Jo. A frantic Mrs. Mercer calls police at 55 Division. 1 a.m.-two uniformed policemen arrive and take [Incomplete]
