Original Toronto Star caption: L. A. Ward holds up his 2-year-old son, Richard, so he can put a donation into the Salvation Army kettle on Queen St. tended by Glennyth Necho, 21, of Burwash, Ont. She and 88 other cadets from the Salvation Army Training College on Bayview Ave. are manning kettles throughout Metro in three-hour shifts. Weather is worst thing, Miss Necho says, but I love working the kettles. All kinds of people give-one donating $20-and $30,000 was contributed in last year's drive.
