Original Toronto Star caption: Learning how to grow flowers in a greenhouse, young men at the Salvation Army's House of Concord in Vaughan Township are taught by a professional. Since it was opened in 1959, the probation home has had 2,000 'graduates'-male offenders between the ages of 16 and 20 who are required to stay at the home as a condition of probation. They can choose one of seven training courses and must attend chapel services.
