Original Toronto Star caption: Greenwood Goes into the history books. nwood racetrack celebrated its 100th anniversary rday and a lot of the fans came dressed as they d have in 1875; when the track and a roadhouse were built several miles east of Toronto for $19;000. George C. Hendrie; honorary president of the Ontario Jockey Club; unveiled a plaque declaring the track a historic landmark. It was called Woodbine until 1956; when present Woodbine opened. The Queen's Plate was raced under its stately elms.
