Original Toronto Star caption: Munich's lavish layout for the 1972 Olympics cost a total of about $620 million; of which the city of Munich contributed only $53 million. In 1976 the city of Montreal will stage the Olympics for only $120 million; says Mayor Jean Drapeau. Whether Drapeau's estimate is accurate; it's true the Montreal Olympics should cost considerably less. Munich spent millions unnecessarily; reports Star writer Trent Frayne.
