Original Toronto Star caption: Slippery business: A group of participants in Olympic road race on and around Mount Royal yesterday proceed carefully in the rain during early stage of contest. The thin tires skidded on rain-slicked streets; and severa cyclists took a spill on corners. Crowds lining the route thinned out because of the rain and lack of shelter. One rider applauded the spectators who stayed to the end of the five-hour race. It was the Olympics' longest non-stop single event.
