Original Toronto Star caption: Launching his dreamboat; It took Otto van Dam nine years to build this boat but yesterday it finally saw water as he launched it in Ashbridges Bay. Van Dam had the boat lifted by crane out of the backyard of his Pape Ave. home and transported by truck to the yacht club on Lake Ontario. The 34-foot sailboat; fashioned after an old Dutch fishing vessel known as a Hoogaars; will be used by the van Dam family for pleasure sailing.
