Original Toronto Star caption: Rella Braithwaite; a West Hill mother and grandmother is writing a book on the arrival of the first blacks in Canada. To research material she will visit libraries across Canada. She started her writing career when she realized there were no books which young blacks could study to find their own identity. Mrs. Braithwaite doesn't consider herself a radical but she works for the liberation of Africa.
