Many fans were crushed against barricades as more than 20;000 people jammed into Nathan Phillips Square for a Toronto birthday party rock concert last night. Police used horses to control the crowd. In photo below; police push a metal barricade against the surging mob. Several people were taken away by ambulance and dozens were treated at a makeshift first-aid centre set up in the lobby of city hall by St. John Ambulance. The concert featured the group Platinum Blonde.
