Original Toronto Star caption: Ray of hope? An anonymous Ottawa collector liked Almuth Lutkenhaus's sculpture so much he commissioned a bigger one for his backyard. So the sculptor recast his bronze Solstice. But the national capital's weather is not very kind on humans; let alone bronze statues. So off it went to Georgetown's Artcast Inc.--where it got 24-karat gold weather treatment at a cost of $13;000. But the 14-foot piece de (weather) resistance proved to be bigger than the doors at Artcast's workshop. Staff lopped off a ray in the hopes of removing the sun sculpture. Vincent Graham; right; is seen re-welding the $50;000 sculpture.
