Original Toronto Star caption: Lots of Trees help bring character to Vancouver's Granville Mall; designed with a winding roadway along which buses and taxis are permitted to travel. The planners found that buses are good for business; and merchants along the street are happy. The mall stretches seven blocks down city's main street; which had been deteriorating.

Next stop; Lima. Toronto dock workers load one of 25 buses decommissioned by the Toronto Transit Commission on to a freighter at Pier 51 near Cherry St. and Unwin Ave. yesterday. The buses; taken out of service after 18 years; and two city garbage trucks are bound for Lima; Peru.
