Original Toronto Star caption: It was planned to be a most special occasion; and it was; when more than 1;000 persons attended the ceremonies marking the opening of Chinguacousy's $5.2 million civic centre last night. Ontario Premier William Davis cuts the ribbon (in left photograph) as Reeve Robert Williams assists in holding tape still. To mark the occasion; Bramaleas' Lionaires Majorette and Drum Corps performed (left) in a display of color and precision. The Bramalea centre; that took only 18 months to build; also includes a theatre; library; art gallery and council chamber.
