Original Toronto Star caption: This bank has the creeps; There are old banks and new banks and regular banks and drive-in banks but in Mount Dennis is what may be the world's only sliding bank. The Bank of Nova Scotia branch at Eglinton Ave. W. and Weston Rd. creeps back a few feet a day to make way for widening of Eglinton. The 400-ton bank; still in business; was jacked onto rollers and rails and pulled by a power winch.
