Original Toronto Star caption: Oakville mall opens for two weeks. The mall - three blocks of Lakeshore Blvd; closed to vehicles and decorated with benches; kiosks; trees and thousands of flowers - was officially opened last night. At the ribbon-cutting are (from left) Miss Canada; Blair Lancaster; Councillor Gordon Reade; chairman of the mall committee; Mayor Harry barrett and Miss Oakville; Joanne Schooley. There'll be entertainment on the mall for its two-week run: a half-dozen bands; dancing; fashion shows; theatre and choir programs.
