Original Toronto Star caption: Starting his Salute; Governor-General George Vanier inspects the 1st battalion of the Canaidan Guard; the honor gurad for ceremonies which preceded the opening of the 27th Parliament in Ottawa yestrday. Later the governor-general went to the Senate chamber where he read hte Speech from the Throne which outlined the government's plans. The list of legislative intentions was one of the longest ever-it contains about 65 items and will keep MPs Busy.
