The domes are for a 19-inch reflector telescope; a 12-inch direct lense telescope and for a number of photographic telescopes. The reflector for the giant telescope; the second largest in the world; is still being ground at Newcastle-on-Tyne; England. This is a difficult and laborious process and may still take as long as a year to complete successfully.
