Original Toronto Star caption: Malvern Houses sell for $15,000 to $20,000, compared with the average price of $45,000 for Metro houses, because those in the Malvern project are sold without land. Under the Ontario government's Home Ownership Made Easy (HOME) plan, the house is sold like those in ordinary subdivisions but the land is leased, at from $29.17 to $57.78 a month, for the first five years. After that the householder has the option of buying it at a comparatively low price.
