Original Toronto Star caption: Looking forward to two months of freedom. School's out today for the 58,000 pupils in Scarborough public schools - and the Grade 6 youngsters at Centennial Road are delighted, including 11-year-old John Gallop, who's on crutches because of a broken ankle. Teachers, however, have another week to go, tidying up loose ends and getting everything ready for Sep.2, when school starts again. Many of the 28,000 high school students have been off since the second week in June; others have been exams. Across Metro, pupils get out different times because of their teachers' activity days. Centennial Road Junior Public School, located on Centennial Road at Lawson Road, southeast corner.
