Original Toronto Star caption: The old archway over the front door remains standing as Scarborough's oldest high school, R. H. King Collegiate Institute at St. Clair Ave. and Kingston Rd., is reduced to rubble. The school board has decided to keep the archway as a monument, standing next door to the new school that has replaced it. The old school was built in 1922 to serve small villages, such as West Hill and Pickering, and surrounding farms.
