Original Toronto Star caption: Centennial college, which has been more or less the guinea pig for Ontario's ambitious new community college system, started last year with just 500 students, housed in an old arsenal in Scarborough. Three hundred of those students, including Ron Rankine, are back this year and they have been joined by 800 others. A total of 17 such colleges, with 40,000 day and night students, are due to open.
