Original Toronto Star caption: Victoria Park Ave. subway open today. The new $250,000 Victoria Park Ave. subway was opened today for vehicular traffic. It eliminates a dangerous level crossing which was the scene of many fatal accidents. No special ceremonies marked the opening, Earl Baird, Scarboro township engineer, stated, but when re-sodding has been completed the subway will be opened officially.
