Original Toronto Star caption: A little gem; architect Ronald J. Thom says of the Bank of Montreal at Yonge and Front Sts. It's rococo; a lovely; richly carved object in a city often pretty bare. He also likes the looks of the Gooderham Building; the flatiron in red brick that stands at Wellington and Church Sts.-but other buildings on the list of those the Toronto Historical Board wants saved leave him cold. He especially deplores Toronto's bastardized Greek columns.
