Original Toronto Star caption: A Water bridge seemed like the logical thing to build when engineers were faced with problem of putting a subway extension under the Don River at Youge St. and York Mills Rd. Rather than divert water it was alowed to flow while workmen toiled belows. When that stretch of subway is complete; the bridge will be removed and the surrounding area restored. The subway is being extended from Eglinton Ave. to Sheppard Ave. and is expected to be completed by late 1971.
