Original Toronto Star caption: A millstone: Sir Henry Pellatt; the builder of Casa Loma atop Spadina Hill; blamed the city for making his palace a financial burden. He was forced to move out in 1922. He said he should have built it outside the city and it wouldn't then be swamped in taxex . . . making it worthless; in these hard times; to live in.
