Original Toronto Star caption: World's tallest free-standing statue? The 1,815-foot-high CN Tower appears to dwindle in the back-ground, viewed from this angle behind teh gigantic sculpture, Universal Man, set at its base. The bronze figure by Canadian artist Gerald Gladstone is 21 feet high and weighs 5 1/2 tons. Gladstone was commissioned to do it in 1972 and it was unveiled in July.
