Original Toronto Star caption: Summer by the banks of the commerce pool. When Commerce Court development; at King and Bay Sts.; was announced in 1968; chairman Neil McKinnon of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce said it would be a pleasant place for people to see and be in. Whether or not anyone wants to aruge; the courtyard of the $100 million development; with circular fountain attracts large crowds at lunchtime. Commerce Court opened in 1971.
