Original Toronto Star caption: Woman fell from bridge to fence at left. A woman giving her name as Mrs. J. C. Walmsley, Castleview Ave., was rushed to the Toronto Western hospital today with a broken neck after she fell 70 feet from the top of the Bathurst St. bridge just north of St. Clair Ave. Late this afternoon, her condition was reported as serious. The woman was first seen lying in the ravine by a passerby, who called Forest Hill police. The police found her in a semi-conscious state lying half in the little stream that flows through the ravine. The first force of her fall was broken by a six-foot wire fence and the muddy ground helped cushion the impact, police said.
