Original Toronto Star caption: Real cool shades. These unique sun shades on the new Ontario Telephone Employees Credit Union building at Wilson and Wilson Rd. are a first for Toronto. Designed by architect Frank Stalmach; they are made of 1/4-inch tinted plastic plates installed in aluminium frames. They reportedly cut cooling load and air conditioning costs by 30 per cent - much more than metal or cloth awnings will do. Only two other buildings - one in U.S. and another in France use them. Architect liked the building so much he moved in as a tenant. Note how shades completely shadow the windows.
