Original Toronto Star caption: Mementoes of city halls past and present are held by Shirley Brown; of the city's Records Department. The spade (left) was used to turn the first sod of new City Hall. Small trowel was used to lay cornerstone of Toronto's first city hall; now razed. Larger trowel was used for cornerstone laying of old city hall.
