The hindu puja ceremony of blessing is performed outside a former Baptist Church on Indian Rd., in the High Park area, by Veerendra Adhiya and his wife, Kusum, to take possession of the building. It will be a community centre for Metro's 20,000 Indians, including a Hindu temple in the basement.

Indian Road Baptist Church, Indian Road, southwest corner of Humberside Avenue, was built in 1907. It became a Hindu temple and Indian cultural centre in 1972, and subsequently a Korean Presbyterian church. Sold for development, it was demolished c.2005.
