Original Toronto Star caption: Ross Skene; one of the carnival barkers at the Conklin Shows 1928 midway; ropes in the rubes with his megaphone and brass-buttoned uniform reminiscent of the good old days of 50 years ago. The public is invited to try a hand at midway barking and Star repoter Stef Donev gave it a whirl. But he found stage fright scrambled his brain and tangled his tongue; making his barker's bark pretty feeble.
