Original Toronto Star caption: Cruising through Ontario Place; a large canoe is paddled by a group of youths along one of the many lagoons on the 96-acre site. Boat traffic along the lagoons was even more uncluttered than along the walkways as today's opening day attendance; expected by officials to be between 35;000 and 70;000; fell far below the forecast. An Ontario Place spokesman said while we're a little disappointed in the size of the crowd; it gives elbow room to fix last minute hitches.
