Original Toronto Star caption: Approaching Icefield floating in the centre of Toronto harbor; first mate Ralph Lacey and deckhand Bill Dubeau watch the progress of the Island ferry Ongiara from its forward deck. Battering its way through the ice; ferry ground to a halt three times; but each time it free itself under its own power; backed off and then took another run. When the boat reached Ward's Island; the berth was so iced up that two runs had to be made before it could be docked.
