Original Toronto Star caption: Grandfather of Toronto clock towers is the one at St. Lawrence Hall (left) which was built in 1850 near the site of the first city hall. The city's highest clock tower a 300 feet; is the one at Toronto's old city hall (above). Among the oldest clock tower firehalls still in use is the one on Yorkville Ave.; which was built in 1880 (above right). It is an 80-foot structure and has been part of city since annexation in 1883.
