Original Toronto Star caption: A full house in the harbor. Twenty-one ships were berthed in Toronto Harbor this week; one of the busiest times of the soon-to-end shipping season. All piers but one were occupied as vessels loaded and unloaded everything from automobiles to canned pineapple. Ross Fitchett of the harbor commission says the port gets busier every year as winter closing looms-and it looks like we'll be going full speed from now on. Latest date the St. Lawrence Seaway closed was Dec. 13; in 1960; the earliest closing was Nov. 29; in 1956; 1960. There's no telling when it'll shut down this year.
